TDP applicants file nominations Rajya Sabha elections

Amaravati, Mar 12 Telugu Desam Party applicants C M Ramesh and Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar today filed their nominations for the election to two Rajya Sabha seats from Andhra Pradesh.

They filed their nominations before Returning Officer K Satyanarayana Rao in the state lawmaking body, hours before the assignment procedure attracted to a nearby.

Earlier, the two candidates met the Chief Minister and party chief, N Chandrababu Naidu, and offered thanks for picking them.

A businessman and party financier, Ramesh is presently an individual from the Upper House, speaking to Telangana since the state bifurcation. He is expected to resign on April 2 in the wake of finishing his first term of six years.

In spite of beginning talk in the gathering that Ramesh may not get a moment term, Naidu decided to renominate him, given the different (budgetary) conditions, party sources asserted.

Then again, Ravindra Kumar will make his introduction openly life subsequent to having served TDP for around three decades.

A senior lawyer in the Andhra Pradesh high court, Kumar heads the TDP's legal cell and had showed up for Naidu in different cases documented by the then boss priest, Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.

"We require a man like Ravindra Kumar to battle legal cases on implementation of the promises made in the AP Reorganization Act, 2014. He hosts been a dedicated party worker for a long time, and hence, been rewarded with a Rajya Sabha seat," Naidu said.
