Rajeev Shukla: Steve Smith's IPL future to be decided after Cricket Australia's report

New Delhi, March 27 Under fire Steve Smith's participation in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season will be chosen after Cricket Australia's report, alliance administrator Rajeev Shukla said on Tuesday.

Smith has already stepped down as captain of Rajasthan Royals, his IPL franchise following the ball-tampering contention during Australia's third Test against South Africa.

"We were waiting for Cricket Australia's report. We have already written to them and we are expecting their written reply. The moment it comes, we will deciding about it. In the event that they will rebuff him then we will likewise think on those lines," Shukla told reporters.

He included, "We need everything to be researched. There are sure arrangements in our player controls, in like manner, we will choose. Our association will begin from April 7 so there is no rush."

Smith has been prohibited for one Test and fined 100 percent coordinate charge by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in the wake of conceding that he organized an arrangement to ball alter.

Following the scandal, Smith and David Warner both stepped down as Australia captain and vice-captain respectively.

The 11th edition of the IPL will begin from April 7. Rajasthan Royals are planned to play their first match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 9, who are captained by Smith's comrade Warner.
