Farhan Akhtar 'for all time' erases Facebook account

New Delhi, Mar 27 Actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar has 'permanently' quit social networking site Facebook.

The move, it seems, follows the shocking reports of Facebook's data breach.

Without saying the reason, the 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' star took to Twitter to inform his fans and followers about his choice.

"Hello. This is to inform you all that I have permanently erased my own Facebook account. Notwithstanding, the checked FarhanAkhtarLive page is as yet dynamic," he tweeted on Tuesday.

For the unversed, Cambridge Analytica, the political information firm with ties to United States President Donald Trump's 2016 election campaign, is under fire for allegedly gaining accessing private data of in excess of 50 million Facebook clients, and impacting races by using this stolen information.
