New Delhi, Mar 22 Congress on Thursday reported that they would move a Privilege Motion against External Affairs Minister (EAM) Sushma Swaraj for deceiving the groups of the Indians killed in Iraq by the Islamic State.
Swaraj on Tuesday told Parliament in New Delhi that the 39 Indians grabbed in 2014 by the IS terrorists had been killed. Four years prior, the Ministry of External Affair said the kidnapped Indians were alive.
"We are going to bring a Privilege Motion against the External Affairs Minister for misleading the families of the 39 Indians and in addition the House," senior Congress leader Ambika Soni told journalists here.
Congress leader and former MoS for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor, as well, had criticised the government for giving false would like to the groups of the hostages every one of these years.
"Offering lie to individuals is really pitiless and recommends a specific level of need straightforwardness on part of the administration, Tharoor said.
Echoing on similar views, another Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad on Wednesday asked the focal and state governments to expand money related help, including government occupations, for the relatives of the casualties.
The 39 people, most of whom hailed from Punjab, were working on projects near Mosul when they were kidnapped during their clearing in 2014
