Arvind Kejriwal brings all-party meeting over sealing issue

New Delhi, Mar 11 Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has required an "all-party meeting" at his residence on Tuesday to find solutions to the issues being looked by traders because of the sealing drive in the national capital.

The chief minister today composed letters to Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari and Congress leader Ajay Maken, in which he stated, "We should rise above politics and come together to find a solution for the issues that have ascended because of sealing".

He also recommended that not in excess of three individuals from each gathering ought to be at the meeting so it can be held easily.

In January, Leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta had alleged that AAP leaders and specialists "made trouble" with individuals from a BJP designation at Kejriwal's home when they had gone there to talk about alleviation to dealers hit by the fixing drive.

A case was registered in the issue and some AAP MLAs were booked.

Recently, Maken had kept in touch with Kejriwal, offering to impart to the central pastor what he felt could be an answer for stop the continuous fixing drive.

In his letter, the Delhi Congress president had asserted that as indicated by the corrected end-all strategy and the National Capital Territory of Delh Laws (Special Provisions) Second Act, 2011, no fixing can be completed in Delhi.

"Being a former Union urban development minister, I can state with certainty that to spare Delhi from fixing, numerous changes had just been made in the Master Plan 2021," he had said in the letter.

Kejriwal, in his letter said Maken, being a former union urban development minister, would have the capacity to offer "good and practical" solution to the sealing issue.

The Delhi chief minister had yesterday written letters to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress president Rahul Gandhi looking for meetings with them to talk about the sealing issue and worried on the requirement for getting a Bill Parliament to stop the drive.

The sealing drive was undertaken by the municipal corporations of the national capital on the directions of a Supreme Court-appointed committee in December last year.

Under the drive, several business foundations have been fixed so far for non-payment of transformation charges and violation of Delhi Master Plan.
