Mumbai, Mar 7 Reports of actor Irrfan Khan being admitted to the Kokilaben Hospital here are false, sources at the hospital said today.
The denial came after bits of gossip started circulating that the 51-year-old actor has brain cancer and has been admitted to the hospital.
On March 5, Irrfan had issued an announcement that he was suffering from "a rare disease" and would share points of interest when there was a conclusive diagnosis.
"It isn't valid. He isn't here at the doctor's facility for treatment," an authority at the Kokilaben hospital.
The actor's team also subdued bits of gossip about him being admitted to the private doctor's facility.
Asked he has tumor, they declined to remark.
"We will remark as quickly as time permits. No remarks right now," a representative for the actor told.
In a Twitter post, Irrfan, one of India's most adaptable on-screen characters, had said he and his family were jarred by the information of his ailment, and asked for his fans and adherents not to "speculate" about his health.
On February 21, the actor's representative released a statement, saying he has been determined to have an "extreme instance of jaundice".
In his very nearly three-decade vocation, the on-screen character has set up himself as a standout amongst the most reliable entertainers in the Indian film industry and in addition in Hollywood.
He made his big screen to make a big appearance with the Academy Award-assigned 1988 film "Salaam Bombay" and went ahead to give stellar exhibitions in movies, for example, "Haasil", "Maqbool", "Paan Singh Tomar", "The Lunchbox", "Piku" and "Hindi Medium".

Director Vishal Bhardwaj, who was booked to start the shoot of his next, featuring Irrfan and Deepika Padukone, postponed the filming of the project citing health concerns of his lead actors.
Irrfan's last released film was Tanuja Chandra's "Qarib Singlle". His up and coming movies incorporate "Extortion" and "Karwaan", a spin-off of "Hindi Medium".
