Final decision will be banking system: SBI on Vijay Mallya resource

New Delhi, July 6 State Bank of India (SBI) Managing Director Arijit Basu on Friday communicated certainty over the fair banking system in connection with liquor baron Vijay Mallya's benefits which have been identified so far.

Basu's statement comes a day after Bangalore police through the Enforcement Directorate (ED) submitted a report before Delhi's Patiala House Court expressing that they have recognized 159 properties of liquor baron Vijay Mallya and United Breweries.

"Our point is that we get the most extreme; it can be a property, it can be other corporate resources. Correct figures of what have been recuperated by SBI and different banks will be told," Basu told.

"Sure that final decision will be reasonable for managing an account framework," he included.

The Bangalore police had also looked for more opportunity to recognize other extra properties.

Earlier on June 30, Mallya was summoned by an assigned court under Fugitive Economic Offenders to show up before it on August 27. The notice was issued to Mallya and others regarding ED's June 22 application for pronouncing him as an outlaw financial wrongdoer and to reallocate his properties.

Less than a week ago, Mallya broke his quiet finished the contention encompassing him of defaulting on bank loans to the tune of Rs. 9000 crore.

The liquor baron, in a series of tweets, asserted that he had been erroneously made the "blurb kid of Bank default and a lightning rod of public anger".

He also repeated that he is making every effort, in good faith to settle contribution with the banks, however in the event that politically-persuaded factors meddle, there is no other option for him.

The 62-year-old is facing a trial in a UK court regarding his removal to India. He is confronting charges for financial irregularities including a total amount of Rs 9,000 crore, as well as money laundering cases.
