Prime Minister Modi meets Bhutan PM Dasho Tshering Tobgay

New Delhi, July 6 Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Bhutan Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay here on Friday.

The two leaders are good to go to hold talks."Exemplary relationship worth celebrating! PM @narendramodi invites Prime Minister of #Bhutan @tsheringtobgay to India during the Golden Jubilee Year of our relationship, which depends on shared recognitions, most extreme trust, altruism and comprehension," Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) representative Raveesh Kumar tweeted.

Tobgay, who arrived on a three-day visit to India on Thursday, met External Affairs Minister (EAM) Sushma Swaraj."Exceptional, time-tried and everlasting relationship! EAM @SushmaSwaraj approached Prime Minister of #Bhutan @tsheringtobgay. Warm exchanges on taking the relationship higher than ever amid the Golden Jubilee Year of foundation of conciliatory relations," Kumar tweeted on Thursday

During his visit, the Bhutanese Prime Minister will also meet President Ram Nath Kovind and other ministers.

As per a MEA release, India and Bhutan appreciate unique ties of friendship and participation, which are portrayed by most extreme trust and common comprehension.

This year, the two nations are commemorating the golden jubilee of the foundation of formal diplomatic relations.

"The upcoming visit of Prime Minister Tobgay, during the Golden Jubilee year, will give a chance to both the sides to hold discussions on issues of mutual interest, and advancing the exemplary ties of friendship the exemplary ties friendship for the benefit of the two peoples," the MEA statement further read.

It is to be specified that India and China confronted a 73-day-long standoff in Doklam, from June 16 a year ago.

This came after the Indian side stopped the Chinese from building a road illegally at the questioned Doklam tri-intersection (as guaranteed by India and Bhutan).Likewise, Bhutan and China had a disagreement regarding Doklam, following which talks are being held to arrive at a solution.
