Shiv Sena said Center Allow Arvind Kejriwal to work

Mumbai, Jul 6 The Shiv Sena said today that the Center should be participate with the AAP government in Delhi and allow Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to work.

The statement comes in the wake of a Supreme Court judgment for Kejriwal with respect to the national capital's statehood.

The BJP's carping ally said Prime Minister Narendra Modi could have reined in Delhi Lieutenant Governor (L-G) Anil Baijal had he needed to, amid the pull of war between the L-G and the AAP government.

The apex court, in a landmark judgement two days back, had said the L-G is bound by the chose government's recommendation and can't be an "obstructionist".

"The Supreme Court said the L-G can't stifle an administration that has been voted to control and do as he wishes to. At any rate now the standoff between the L-G and the Delhi government should end and Kejriwal should be permitted to do his work as the Chief Minister," the Sena said in a publication in party mouthpiece 'Saamana'.

The political standoff was not between Kejriwal and L-G Baijal, but rather between the Delhi chief minister and Modi, the Sena said.

"Had Modi needed to, he could have gotten control over the L-G who was delegated by the focal government. Be that as it may, the Supreme Court needed to do this work," it said.

The Sena said it questioned the L-G's "impedance" in choices of the Delhi government will stop after the Supreme Court decision.

"The AAP government came to control with an immense command (in mid 2015) in spite of the Modi wave and the BJP got only three gathering seats," the Sena production said.

"There can be a difference of opinion on Kejriwal's style of working, but people's mandate should be regarded and the Center must collaborate with the Kejriwal government," it said.

The Marathi daily added that the actions of the Delhi L-G, of not remembering the significance of his sacred post, have brought down the renown of the organization and the Raj Bhavan.

"If the Center thought Kejriwal was not working or was corrupt, it should have rejected the administration however not enabling it to work was foul play," the Sena said.

"If you don't need those contradicted to you (the BJP) to run governments, why do you even allow elections?" it said.

The Delhi government did not have rights to try and delegate assistants or 'chaprasis' (peons), couldn't take strategy choices, couldn't assemble conferences of IAS officers and was not permitted to give them bearings, the Sena said.

"This was a strangulation of a government that was voted to control. In this way, the Kejriwal government challenged and AAP ministers sat on a strike in the Raj Bhavan," it said.

"The photo (of AAP ministers staging a sit-in protest at L-G's home) was more regrettable what happened during the Emergency of 1975-77," it included.
