Centre approves additional 2 % DA for Central Government representatives

New Delhi, Aug 29 The Centre on Wednesday approved to release an additional installment of Dearness Allowance (DA) to Central Government representatives and Dearness Relief (DR) to retired people with impact from July 01 speaking to an expansion of two percent over the current rate of seven percent of the basic pay/Pension, to adjust for value rise.

The Union Cabinet meeting was led by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The combined impact on the exchequer by virtue of both Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief would be Rs.6112.20 crore per annum and Rs.4074.80 crore in the money related year 2018-19 (for a time of 08 months from July 2018 to February 2019).

This will profit around 48.41 lakh central government workers and 62.03 lakh pensioners.

This increase is in accordance with the accepted formula, which depends on the proposals of the seventh Central Pay Commission.
