Patna High Court raps CBI: Muzaffarpur case

Patna, Aug 23 The Patna High Court on Thursday rapped the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for not presenting the Muzaffarpur shelter home investigation report on time.

"According to the before order, CBI should give a status answer to the court today. Be that as it may, the CBI direct had requested an augmentation for recording the same. The court had denied giving them time and requested to display the provide details regarding next hearing, that is, today," Shama Sinha, advocate for candidate Santosh Kumar,told.

"The court today asked as to why the status report was not submitted before it. The court further questioned as to why it was not informed about the transfer of CBI SP JP Mishra," revealed Sinha.

Sinha further said that the High Court has also issued rules for media to not show or print anything identified with the case ahead of time. She stated, "Where investigation is being done? Or where it will be held next? Court said media should cease from uncovering points of interest like this as it will profit those blamed for the situation." The issue will now be heard on August 27.

"CBI has been asked to present the status provide details regarding the given date. Additionally, CBI has been educated that no data ought to be spilled about their examination. Just court will be educated about the examination done. A mindful officer will be there to help the court in the following hearing," Sinha said.

Few months ago, Mumbai-based Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) had uncovered the Muzaffarpur shelter home case in Bihar, in which more than 40 inmates have allegedly been sexually exploited. Upwards of 11 employees of the safe house home were arrested later, including prime denounced Brajesh Thakur, and a further investigation is being carried by CBI.
