New Delhi, Aug 31 The Congress today blamed the BJP government for selling petrol and diesel to other countries at far cheaper rates than to Indian citizens and asserted the people, who were suffering due to the all-time high prices, would give it a befitting answer in races for this "betrayal".
Congress chief representative Randeep Surjewala asserted the common man was suffering due to spiralling costs of such items and the government had "looted" the nation of over Rs 11 lakh crore because of require of "monstrous taxes".
"The Modi government is selling cheap petrol and diesel to foreign nations, as Indians suffer due to the all-time high prices," he said.
"The monstrous taxes being required by the government have brought about the soaring petroleum and diesel costs. The Modi government has as of now benefitted by finished Rs 11 lakh crore from draconian charges on fuel," he affirmed in an announcement.
The Congress leader claimed the petrol and diesel costs were at a record-breaking high and the basic man, the white collar class, the ranchers, the transporters and little and medium organizations were enduring its worst part.
"Petrol and diesel in India are available in the scope of Rs 78-86 and from Rs 70 to 75 separately, however a RTI reply revealed the Modi government is pitching oil to 15 nations at just Rs 34 for each liter and diesel to 29 nations at Rs 37 as it were. These incorporate England, Australia, America, Malaysia and Israel. This is the way the administration sold out and backstabbed the people of India," he asserted.
Surjewala guaranteed in July 2017, the Congress had requested that petrol and diesel be brought under the ambit of the GST, yet the legislature and the BJP declined to tune in.
"Presently, the people of India will answer the BJP by giving it a befitting answer in the upcoming elections," he said.
The Congress leader alleged the excise duty of petrol was simply Rs 9.2 per litre in May 2014, while it is Rs 19.48 for every litre at this point.
He guaranteed the extract obligation of diesel was simply Rs 3.46 for each litre in May 2014 to Rs 15.33 for each litre at this point. The focal extract obligation has been climbed 12 times since the BJP came in to control.
He said the costs of basic items were consuming gaps in the financial plans of the all Indians and the general population would "not forgive and never look back" the legislature for the "fuel plunder" and they "will give a befitting answer to the BJP in the forthcoming elections".
He said while soaring diesel costs of Rs 70.26 for each litre in Delhi were affecting agriculturists' help, other than a stinging impact on the runaway sustenance expansion, the costs of petroleum which contacted a high of Rs 78.57 for every litre in Delhi had gravely affected the transportation and driving expense of the regular man.
He said the costs of petrol and diesel in the nation's budgetary capital Mumbai had contacted Rs 86 for each litre and Rs 74.59 separately attributable to charges forced by the BJP governments in the Center and the State.
