Overwhelming showers lash Delhi and adjoining areas of NCR

New Delhi, Aug 10 The national capital and bordering zones got overwhelming precipitation on Friday with water-logging reported from a several areas.

Showers started since noon and kept up its power well into the early night hours. As expected, traffic took a shot because of overwhelmed streets with growls revealed from a few sections of the city. Indeed, even the same number of workers on bikes selected to end and seek shelter under flyovers and footbridges, transports, three-wheelers and autos jarred for space.

The Met office has predicted rain to continue for most parts of the day and could spill over into the weekend as well. While the mercury will stay in the mid 30s, an ascent in moistness is likely to cause discomfort.
