Sumitra Mahajan mourns Karunanidhi's passing

New Delhi, August 8 Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan on Wednesday mourned the passing of previous Tamil Nadu boss pastor and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) chief, Muthuvel Karunanidhi.

Calling Karunanidhi, an 'exceedingly famous' and 'eminent personality', Mahajan dismissed the house and stated, "With profound sorrow, I need to educate the House about the tragic downfall of #Karunanidhi who passed away on 7 Aug 18. He filled in as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for five times."

The doyen of Tamil legislative issues, M. Karunanidhi passed away on Tuesday after a drawn out illness.

'Kalaignar' inhaled his last at Kauvery Hospital, where he was undergoing treatment for a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI).

The DMK chief was first admitted to Kauvery Hospital on July 18 for a difference in Tracheostomy Tube. In any case, he was released that day after the methodology.

In the next weeks, Karunanidhi built up a fever after his UTI contamination irritated because of which he was experiencing doctor's facility like treatment at his Gopalapuram habitation. Notwithstanding, after the DMK chief's health declined on July 28 mid-night he was rushed to Kauvery Hospital around 1:30 am.

Karunanidhi is survived by three wives and six children.
