New Delhi, Aug 4 Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday checked on the arrangements set up in place ahead of the launch affirmation program under the Ayushman Bharat-National Health Protection Mission (AB-NHPM).
In a meeting chaired earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi was informed by top authorities of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, NITI Aayog and Prime Minister's Office (PMO) on different angles including the preparations in states, and development of the technological infrastructure associated with the scheme.
The plan will give health assurance cover of up to Rs 5 lakh for each family, and is focused to cover more than 10 crore poor and powerless families, said an official articulation.
It is in accordance with Prime Minister Modi's vision of giving most extreme advantage to poor people and minimized areas of society.
In April, Prime Minister Modi, on the event of Ambedkar Jayanti, had introduced the main 'Health and Wellness Centre' under Ayushman Bharat, in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur area.
