New Delhi, Aug 29 Union Minister of State for Home Affairs (MoS, Home) Kiren Rijiju has urged Congress party chief Rahul Gandhi to keep national security interests above politics, a day after the latter expressed concerns over the arrests of five activists regarding the Bhima-Koregaon viciousness.
Taking to his Twitter handle, Rijiju stated, "As Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh had proclaimed that Maoists are the No.1 threat to India's internal security. Presently the Congress president straightforwardly underpins the front organisations and sympathisers of the Maoists."
"Keep national security above politics," MoS Home included.
Remarks from Rijiju came a day after Rahul Gandhi attacked the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and questioned the capture of five activists by the Pune Police regarding the Bhima Koregaon violence case.
"There is put for one NGO in India and it's known as the RSS. Shut down every other Ngo. Correctional facility all activists and shoot those that whine. Welcome to the new India. #BhimaKoregaon," the Gandhi scion tweeted.
