Stalin remembers Karunanidhi at party official meet

Chennai, August 14 Addressing the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's (DMK) official meet at Chennai on Tuesday, party working president MK Stalin recollected his dad and DMK Chief M.Karunanidhi and said that the gathering has lost a pioneer yet he has also lost a dad.

Speaking on the debate around the burial of the DMK chief, notwithstanding begging Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami for an entombment spot at Marina shoreline as wished by Karunanidhi himself, Stalin accused the opposition All India Anna Dravida Munnetra (AIADMK) of denying place at Marina Beach for the burial. He stated, "When Kalaignar was in his last stage I held Chief Minister's hands and argued to satisfy his (Karunanidhi) last wish to be covered in Marina Beach however govt didn't concur."

Thanking the lawyers, he included, "I give the entire credit of the triumph (internment of Karunanidhi at Marina Beach) to legal advisors. On the off chance that this wouldn't have happened then unquestionably I would have been the individual to be covered alongside our pioneer."

He engaged all gathering specialists to work towards Karunanidhi's will.

A massive controversy had erupted over the last resting place of Karunanidhi after the Tamil Nadu government, citing legal hurdles, expelled DMK's ask for and offered a two-section of land site at the Gandhi Mandapam.

Karunanidhi fondly referred as 'Kalaignar' and also a five-time chief minister of Tamil Nadu, breathed his rearward in Chennai's Kauvery hospital after a prolonged illness. He was 94.
