Kerala floods: Rahul praises fishermen for aiding salvage operations

Kerala Aug 28 Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday achieved the floods attacked province of Kerala and praised anglers for aiding salvage activities. He met the surge casualties at a help camp in Chengannur locale.

Gandhi who is on a two-day visit to Kerala also tended to an expansive gathering of fishermen and lauded them for helping the drift monitors in directing the safeguard tasks. "I salute your dauntlessness and your pledge to the general population of Kerala. Three thousand fishermen spared 70,000 people and this is not a small thing," he said.

He also guaranteed them that if the Congress comes to control in 2019 general elections, at that point a different service would be made to address the network's complaints. "God's possesses armed force will have its own particular service," he included.

The Congress president is also booked to visit relief camps in Alappuzha and Angamaly later in the day. On Wednesday, the Congress president will take stock of the situation in the Wayanad district.

Also in the wake of meeting the flood victims, Rahul held up in the helicopter at the Chenganoor Christian College ground keeping in mind the end goal to offer leeway to an air emergency vehicle.

Kerala faced the worst flood in a century, which claimed lives of as many as 357 people and rendered thousands homeless.
