CM Nitish Kumar directs DMs to inspect shelter homes

Muzaffarpur (Bihar), Aug 6 In the wake of Muzaffarpur shelter home affirmed assault cases, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday guided all region officers to assess kid and women shelter homes running in the state.

Kumar requested that sufficient security plans should also be made at the haven homes to guarantee safety of the inmates.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken responsibility of the Muzaffarpur shelter home case and group has just achieved Muzaffarpur for promote examination. They have collected all documents related to the case from the Social Welfare Department of Patna and the Mumbai-based Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS). The case became known after a report of TISS in April.

A month ago, 11 representatives of the shelter home were captured and 44 girls were protected. The haven home was controlled by Brajesh Thakur, the prime blamed for the situation who is in jail now.

On August 1, the Bihar Police raided another shelter home run by Thakur after a body of evidence was enlisted against him over disappearance of 11 girls.
