CM Adityanath says: Cleanliness of Ganga river duty of all

Lucknow, Aug 9 Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said today that maintaining the cleanliness and "aviralta" (regularly streaming nature) of Ganga was the obligation of all, as waterways were associated with the improvement of present and who and what is to come.

Adityanath commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for creating a separate ministry for cleaning of the river.

"The ebb and flow government at the Center is working with a feeling of connection to maintain the cleanliness and consistently streaming nature of the waterway," Adityanath said today while hailing off the 'Namami Gange Jagriti Yatra' embraced by the homeguards of UP police here.

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi began the Namami Gange Pariyojana in July 2014 to keep up the regularly streaming nature of Ganga from Gangotri to Gangasagar and Rs 20,000 crore have been reserved. To give more quality to the PM's endeavors, more than 1.30 center saplings were planted. Upwards of 1,627 villages situated on the banks of river Ganga have been made open-defecation free," he said.

Adityanath said that the state government has found a way to stop effluents of different tanneries, channels and so forth from streaming into the Ganga river.

The UP government is chipping away at a compelling system to guarantee cleanliness of different waterways, and assistance from the Center will be tried to finish the program, he said.

"Any sort of material utilized for venerating or strong waste ought not be tossed into waterway Ganga. The cleanliness of the streams is straightforwardly connected to the advancement of our present and who and what is to come," the chief minister said.

He spoke to people to attempt ranch programs on the banks of river Ganga.

"Had there been no streams like Ganga or Yamuna in the northern India, this area would have been changed into a forsake. Because of nature, there are such rivers in the district, and to spare to these rivers is the obligation of the local residents inhabitants," Adityanath said.

He encouraged that all partners should promise to keep Ganga clean and said that in 2019, Ardh Kumbh, will be held at the Sangam - the conjunction of Ganga, Yamuna and legendary Saraswati river.
