New Delhi, Aug 3 "Pranab Da, you have always been a father figure and a guide to me," an emotional Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote in a letter to Pranab Mukherjee on his last day as president.
The letter, which spells out the bond between the two pioneers who come from various political ideologies, was shared by the former president on Twitter today.
"On my last day in office as the President, I got a letter from PM @narendramodi that touched my heart! Offering to all of you," Mukherjee said in a tweet.
Modi said he had come to New Delhi, three years back, as an untouchable.
"The task before me was huge and challenging. During circumstances such as the present, you have always been a father figure and a guide to me. Your knowledge, direction and personal warmth have given me more prominent certainty and quality," the PM said.
The prime minister said Mukherjee's "intellectual ability" had been of steady offer assistance.
"You have been so warm, tender and minding to me.
Your one telephone call asking me 'I trust you are dealing with your wellbeing' was sufficient to fill me with fresh energy, after a long day at meetings or on a campaign tour," he said in the letter dated July 24.
Mukherjee ventured down from office the following day.
"Pranab Da, our political journeys came to fruition in various political gatherings. Our belief systems, now and again, have been unique. Our encounters are additionally shifted. My regulatory experience was from my state, while you have seen the region of our national country and legislative issues for quite a long time.
"However, such is the quality of your judgment and knowledge that we could cooperate with collaboration," Modi said.
The BJP pioneer lauded the Congress veteran and previous president for opening the Rashtrapati Bhavan to activities and projects that perceived development and the ability of India's youth.
"You have a place with an era of pioneers for whom legislative issues was basically a way to benevolently offer back to society. You remain as an incredible wellspring of motivation for the general people of India. India will dependably be pleased with you, a President who was a modest open worker and an uncommon pioneer. Your inheritance will keep on guiding us," Modi said.
The prime minister said he and all others would keep on drawing quality from Mukherjee's vote based vision of "taking everyone along".
"Rashtrapati Ji, it has been a respect to work with you, as your Prime Minister," Modi said.
