Need to change talk around JK: Jitendra Singh

New Delhi, Sep 27 There is have to "change the talk" around Jammu and Kashmir as there is no such thing as the Kashmir issue, Union minister Jitendra Singh has stated, focusing on that the main "purpose of open deliberation" is recovering Pakistan possessed Kashmir (PoK).

"The main issue if at all is the manner by which to recover a part of Kashmir which is under the illegal occupation of Pakistan for as far back as 70 years and restore the Valley in an indistinguishable configuration from was given over by Maharaja Hari Singh," Singh said.

He underlined the central government's "proactive" strides in bringing development to the Valley, especially with respect to neutralising extremist forces.

"The border dwellers, disregarding the hardships they confront, have requested that we make solid move against cross-fringe shelling. We have given our powers certainty and opportunity to follow up on the outskirts, and the outcomes are for anyone passing by to view.

"We have been able to neutralise many terrorists and foil infiltration bids. Our crackdown on terror finding in the Valley is another progression to step towards reestablishing commonality in the state," he said.

Hitting out at the past political administrations for "mishandling Kashmir", Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh, who was likewise present on the event, said the Modi government was the main "ray of hope" for the people.
