Rajdhani Express engine, power coach crashes in Delhi

New Delhi, Sep 7 A Delhi-bound Rajdhani Express went off tracks near the Minto connect here today, hours after seven mentors of the Shaktipunj Express wrecked in Uttar Pradesh, said a railways representative.

One person was harmed when the engine and power car of the Delhi-Ranchi Rajdhani crashed at 11:45 am as it was moving toward the Delhi railway station, said Neeraj Sharma, Northern Railways representative.

At time of the incident, the train was running at a speed of around 5 km/hr, he said.

The harmed man, distinguished as Imam Hussain, was taken to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital in Daryaganj, Sharma included.

The crashes of the Rajdhani and the Shaktipunj Express are the first two accidents since Piyush Goyal assumed control as the new railways minister this week.
