Salman Khan gets Global Diversity Award

London, Sep 16 Bollywood genius Salman Khan has been respected with the Global Diversity Award 2017 in the British Parliament House.

The performing artist was honored for his contribution to the Indian film industry as an actor, maker, TV character, artist and humanitarian.

Presenting the award, Keith Vaz, the longest serving Indian-root MP in Parliament, stated, "Salman Khan is a good example and a saint to a huge number of people around the world.

"Other than his Indian cinema success, Salman is well- known philanthropist and his NGO 'Being Human' has done life changing work supporting the underprivileged in India. It is a gigantic respect to give him the honor. I am glad that young Asians worldwide have role models like Salman Khan."

Calling the honor an enormous respect, Salman stated, "My dad could never have trusted that I would make it here. I might want to thank the fans for the regard that they have shown me.

"In spite of the fact that I have gotten many film grants, this is the primary I have received personally so I am unbelievably lowered.

Past beneficiaries of the award include Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, performing artist Aishwarya Rai, Chinese action icon Jackie Chan, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheik Hasina, American Civil Rights pioneer Jesse Jackson and Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton.
