Washington, Sep 8 US President Donald Trump plans to nominate an Indian-American lady to a key organization position in the State Department that would make her responsible for economic diplomacy, the White House said.

Presently Chief Counsel and Senior Policy Adviser to Senator Dan Sullivan, Manisha Singh, if affirmed by the Senate, would supplant Charles Rivkin as the collaborator secretary of state for financial issues.

The position has been empty since January after Rivkin put in his papers following Trump's confirming as the 45th leader of the United States.

An inhabitant of Florida, Singh, 45, has filled in as the appointee collaborator secretary of state in the Bureau of Economic, Energy and Business Affairs, and as a helper to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Her private sector experience includes practicing law at multinational firms and working in-house at an investment bank.

She holds a LL.M degree in International Legal Studies from the American University Washington College of Law, a J.D from the University of Florida College of Law and finished her a BA from the University of Miami at 19 years old.

Singh is authorized to specialize in legal matters in Florida, Pennsylvania, and the District of Columbia.

A local of Uttar Pradesh, she moved to Florida alongside herparents as a child.


In a meeting to Washington Examiner early this year, Singh said she worked on broader foreign policy component in the office of Senator Sullivan.
