Crime Branch starts test in BHU violence

Varanasi, Sep 29 The Crime Branch has started a test in the violence in the BHU grounds and has issued notice to 20 members from the proctorial board, including the former chief proctor, requesting that they record their announcements, authorities said today.

Various students, including women, and two reporters were harmed in a stick charge by the police in the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) grounds where a challenge a week ago against an affirmed eve-prodding episode turned violent.

SP (Crime) Gyanendra Prasad said the investigation into the violence had started and they are scrutinizing the CCTV footage.
