Against militancy operation in Uri: Body of aggressor found

Srinagar, Sept 25 Security forces on Monday recovered body of a militant close to the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri area of Kashmir, taking the quantity of ultra killed in the operation there to four

Security forces on Monday morning continued the counter militancy operation, which was propelled yesterday, following data about nearness of more militants in the area

"We have recouped body of another activist, which takes the quantity of aggressors executed in the operation to four," an Army official said

"The operation continued toward the beginning of today after there were reports of more activists stowing away in the range," the authority said

He said the range of operation was extended to guarantee that no aggressors make tracks in an opposite direction from the security forces' cordon

Three Pakistani activists were killed on Sunday in the gunbattle with security forces in Kalgai area of Uri. Three civilians and a fighter were harmed in the operation

Executive General of Police S P Vaid had said the activists were arranging a suicide assault like the one completed on an Army base a year ago in Uri that left 19 warriors dead and a few others harmed

"A major disaster has been averted.Like the suicide assault on the Army base a year ago, they (militants) had comparable arrangement this time additionally however the police and the Army got data before hand," Vaid told journalists.
