Pakistan violates ceasefire along LoC in Poonch area

Poonch/Jammu, Sep 9 Pakistan today violates ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch area of Jammu and Kashmir, by turning to terminating on forward posts.

The firing from over the border in Debraj, Krishna Ghati and Ishapur in Mendhar division began around 10.30 am, provoking striking back by Indian troops guarding the border , a police official said.

He said the trading of fire was proceeding between the two sides when the last reports were gotten.

Be that as it may, there was no prompt report of any loss.

Two Army porter were harmed in Pakistani firing, which went on for ten minutes, on September 7.

Prior, on September 1, Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Kamaljit Singh of the Border Security Force (BSF) maintained projectile wounds because of adversary fire from over the LoC at a forward post in Krishna Ghati Sector, an officer said.

He was provided first aid and evacuated from the post but unfortunately succumbed to the injuries, he said.

On September 4, Pakistani troops abused the ceasefire twice by terminating at forward posts along the LoC in Degwar and Maldalyan territories in Poonch and along the International Border (IB) in Arnia segment of Jammu.

On September 3, Pakistan Army started unjustifiable and aimless terminating of little arms, automatics and mortars in Krishna Ghati sector in Poonch along the LoC.

Before that, on August 30, Pakistani troops turned to discharging and shelling in the Nowshera part, focusing forward posts and civilian areas.

On August 27, five regular folks, including a women and two minor boy, were harmed in a ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops in the Shahpur belt of Poonch area.

A day prior, on August 26, BSF troops had struck back against infringement and killed three Pak officers. On August 25, a BSF Jawan was harmed in expert sharpshooter fire by Pak officers along the international border in Jammu.

On August 23, senior Army authorities of India and Pakistan held a banner meeting on the LoC in Poonch sector and consented to found components for tough peace and peacefulness.

The two sides consented to keep channels of correspondence open between neighborhood commandants at the LoC, a representative had said.

The year 2017 has seen a sharp increment in ceasefire violations by Pakistani forces.

Till August 1, there were 285 such violations by the Pakistan Army, while in 2016 the number was altogether less at 228 for the whole year, as indicated by the Army figures.
