Three security work force harmed in projectile assault in Kashmir

Srinagar, Sep 24 Three security personnel were harmed today in a projectile assault by activists in a north Kashmir town, police said.

The grenade lobbed by the activists inside a security powers' vehicle in Sopore town of Baramulla locale could have prompted more losses yet a ready exceptional cop spared many lives by discarding the touchy.

Three security personnel - two SPOs and one CRPF jawan - suffered minor injuries in the explosive impact, a police representative said.

"The alert SPO discarded the explosive to a more secure place, along these lines sparing the lives of his partners and civilians. The explosive was flung by activists inside the security powers' vehicle," the representative said.

Director General of Police S P Vaid told reporters that the expansion in projectile assaults by activists was because of new supply of explosives to the ultras.

"There has been some supply of projectiles prompting these occurrences. We are watchful. Today a catastrophe was turned away by a caution SPO by tossing out the projectile from the vehicle," Vaid told correspondents on the sidelines of a capacity.

In the interim, former chief minister Omar Abdullah praised the good judgment appeared by the SPO and requested his administrations be regularised immediately.

"This overcome SPO ought to be rewarded for his presence of mind by immediately regularising him in @JmuKmrPolice," Omar tweeted.
