Heavy rainfall likely in Gangetic West Bengal, city

Kolkata, Aug 3 Heavy rainfall is probably going to happen in the city and a few areas of Gangetic West Bengal today and tomorrow, as per the weather office.

"Heavy rainfall alongside direct electrical storm and lightning are probably going to happen at disengaged puts in the areas of East Midnapore, North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas and Kolkata till tomorrow," a Met office notice said.

Regions of Gangetic West Bengal are additionally liable to experience isolated heavy rainfall on Saturday and Sunday.

Sub-Himalayan districts of Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Coochbehar and Alipurduars are additionally likely to get heavy rainfall till tomorrow, following which rainfall in the district would diminish for the following couple of days, the Met office said.

Practically no rainfall happened in the state in 24 hours till 8.30 AM today, with just Jalpaiguri (15.8mm) recording significant rainfall amid the period, the climate office said.
