Rahul Gandhi: Prime Minister Modi just says his 'Mann Ki Baat'

Gauribidanur (Karnataka), May 8 Taking a pot shot at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said that he just says his 'Mann Ki Baat', yet does not tune in to what the nation needs to state to him.

Rahul stated, "Pradhan Mantri sirf apni 'Mann ki Baat' karte hain, desh ki sunte nahi hain (Prime Minister Modi just says his 'Mann ki Baat' yet doesn't tunes in to what the nation needs to state to him)."

Gandhi targeted Prime Minister Modi for being tight-lipped after a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA supposedly assaulted a young lady in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao a few months back.

Addressing to an open social occasion amid a roadshow at Karnataka's Gauribidanur, Gandhi stated, "A BJP MLA from Uttar Pradesh assaults a lady and PM Modi does not in any case express a word."

Earlier in the day, Gandhi assaulted BJP chief Amit Shah by calling him a 'murder blamed'.

Claiming that Shah lacks credibility, Gandhi said the BJP, which discusses trustworthiness and conventionality, has a person accused of murder as its head.

The Congress President also questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi why he has picked B.S. Yeddyurappa, who has been in prison, as the BJP chief clerical possibility for up and coming Karnataka assembly elections.

Gandhi on being asked whether he can be the Prime Minister hopeful in 2019, if the Congress is the single biggest gathering, he stated, "Truly, for what reason not".

The election in Karnataka will be held on May 12 out of 223 constituencies, out of 224 of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. The decision for one supporters has been delayed after the demise of B.N. Vijay Kumar, Jayanagar BJP hopeful. The tallying of votes and declaration of result will occur on May 15.
