Supreme Court manages no government homes for former UP CMs

New Delhi, May 7 The Supreme Court on Monday subdued the law go by the Uttar Pradesh government giving changeless private convenience to former chief ministers of the state.

The apex court, in its request, said that former chief minister of the state were not qualified for government cottages.

While striking down the law, the Supreme Court said that Section 4(3) of Uttar Pradesh minister (compensations, stipends and different arrangements) Act, 2016 was unlawful. The law was passed in August 2016, by the then Akhilesh Yadav-drove state government.

The law was then tested by the NGO Lok Prahari in the best court.
