Overwhelming rain lashes Chandigarh, authorities on alarm

Chandigarh, May 8 Heavy rain lashed Chandigarh and a few different parts of Haryana and Punjab on Monday evening. Nearby experts, as of now on alarm after an IMD cautioning, stayed careful and exhorted local people to exercise caution.

An thunderstorm cautioning has been issued by the IMD for a few states in northern India including Punjab, Haryana and the NCR. While Delhi and connecting regions did not perceive any precipitation till Monday evening, Chandigarh saw a substantial storm. Schools here and in different parts of Haryana had just been closed for the day and the current climate design is presently prone to stay for whatever remains of Tuesday.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), thunderstorm accompanied by gusty winds, is likely at isolated places over Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and western Uttar Pradesh in the following 24 hours.

Several state governments have issued warnings and spoke to local people to remain indoors during thundershowers.
