South Korean Foreign Minister to meet Pompeo

Seoul, May 10 South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-Wha will hold bilateral talks with United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo relating to North Korea collusion issues.

As per the South Korean news office, Yonhap, this will be Kang's first official gathering with Pompeo in Washington DC, planned for May 11.

"They plan to have in-depth consultations on ways for South Korean and US diplomatic specialists to coordinate for the denuclearization of North Korea and establishment of peace on the Korean Peninsula through the success of the North Korea-U.S. summit," Yonhap cited the South Korean outside service as saying.

Kang and Pompeo will devise a strategy for producing favourable results during the Kim-Trump summit.

The official meet comes when the two Koreas have chosen to sign a peace bargain formally in the not so distant future, finishing the 65-year-old war between the two nations.

Earlier, Pompeo, on his second trip to Pyongyang, had met North Korea's leader Kim Jong-un and fine-tuned details ahead of the Trump meeting, scheduled to be held in late May or June.
