Sushma Swaraj: Kailash Mansarovar Yatra resumes through Nathu La
New Delhi, May 8 External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Tuesday reported that the Nathu La pass has been opened for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.
Addressing to the media, the Union Minister stated, "I had revealed to Chinese Foreign Ministry that relations between governments can't thrive until the point that individuals to-individuals relations are enhanced when Nathu La pass was shut amid last Yatra it came as a hit to individuals. I am cheerful to report that it has now been opened for Yatra."
"We will send 18 batches, of 60 pilgrims each, through Lipulekh Pass and 10 batches, of 50 pilgrims each, through Nathu La Pass. Around 1580 travelers will embrace the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra this year," she included.
Swaraj, who was in China for Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO's) Foreign Ministers' meet, said during a presser that her Chinese partner Wang Yi had consented to permit Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, which was halted by Beijing after the 72-day-long Doklam standoff.
Remarking on the yearly yatra, Swaraj had said prior, "The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra through the Nathu La course will be continued this year. I am sure that with Chinese side's full collaboration, the current year's yatra will be a satisfying background for going to Indian pilgrims."
The whole selection process for the Yatra is automated and in view of an irregular number-age framework to guarantee reasonableness and straightforwardness in the whole procedure.
