Supreme Court dismisses Congress' request against dismissal of CJI impeachment notice

New Delhi, May 8 The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismisses the petitions of two Rajya Sabha Congress parliamentarians, testing rejection of prosecution movement against Chief Justice of India (CJI) Dipak Misra, as pulled back.

MPs Pratap Singh Bajwa and Amee Harshadray Yajnik documented the appeal to against the dismissal of the notice, on Monday.

On April 20, seven opposition parties drove by Congress moved the impeachment motion in the Rajya Sabha, looking for the expulsion of CJI Misra under Article 217 read with article 124 (4) of the Constitution of India.

The movement was marked by 64 sitting individuals from the House.

In the prosecution movement, the opposition cited to four demonstrations of trouble making, including his treatment of Prasad Education Trust case.

However, Vice Pesident Venkaiah Naidu rejected the arraignment movement saying that it needed generous actualities to hold CJI Misra guilty of misbehaviour.

Following the rejection of the plea, senior Congress leader and top court advocate Kapil Sibal scrutinized the court's procedure.

"We filed the petition in Supreme Court yesterday and was to be heard today. In any case, we were educated last night that our appeal to will be heard by five judges. Who gave these requests? What were the requests?" Sibal said at a press conference.

Sibal kept up that the indictment see was not a political issue and that Congress exclusively expects to guarantee procedures of the peak court are not contaminated.
