43,000 going without ticket held, fined: Railways

Patna, Jun 6 The Railways in Bihar has gotten and fined 43,000 explorers without ticket and those not having proper ticket, and collected a penalty of Rs 15.2 crore in May this year, an East Central Railway (ECR) statement said today.

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) faculty additionally held 861 people travelling in coaches saved for ladies and a measure of Rs 2.51 lakh was realised as punishment from them, the statement said.

569 people were discovered smoking in trains a month ago and a fine of Rs 1.14 lakh was collected from them, it said.

Boss Public Relation Officer (CPRO) Arvind Kumar Rajak said that 43,000 individuals were gotten without ticket and not having appropriate ticket, and a punishment of Rs 15.2 crore was collected from them.

396 individuals were arrested for superfluous pulling the chain and Rs 2.85 lakh was acknowledged, Kumar said.

He said 551 people were held for getting rowdy with co-travellers and fine of Rs 1.39 lakh was collected from them.

Further, 860 people were hung on charges of dallying on railroad premises, going on train's roof, among different offences.
