Congress communicates worry over Darjeeling circumstance

Kolkata, June 9 The Congress today communicated worry over the circumstance in the Darjeeling slopes and trusted that both sides would chalk out a methodology to reestablish peace and commonality in the hills.

"We express our worry over the common circumstance in the slopes and expectation that the circumstance will soon standardize and peace will be reestablished," Congress national representative Gaurav Gogoi told journalists.

The Army organized banner walks in Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Kurseong as a 12-hour bandh supported by the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) got in progress today, with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee depicting the bandh as "illicit".

State Congress president Adhir Chowdhury today pointed the finger at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for the agitation in the hills.

"She ought to now apologise to the general population of Bengal for tricking them by saying 'hills are grinning'. Presently we can see slopes are consuming. It is a total regulatory disappointment of the TMC government. The GJM needed to dissent calmly, yet TMC which doesn't put stock in popular government activated brutality in the slopes by utilizing police and goons," Chowdhury said.
